Step 1. Using a texture roller, apply a light coating of Valspar Signature Colors Faux Textured Stone to a 3' x 3' area in a random pattern. Some areas should have finish applied thicker than others to enhance the effect. Re-load roller as necessary.

Step 2. Use a trowel or spatula to randomly smooth and lightly knock down texture. Do not smooth out completely. Continue rolling Textured Stone and knocking it down in 3' square areas across the entire wall. Allow to dry at least 4 hours or overnight.

Step 3. One-Color Glazing Technique: Apply glaze using 3/8" nap roller cover. To a 3' x 3' area, roll glaze over the dried texture in random directions covering it completely. While glaze is still very wet, use a damp cotton rag to soften and remove excess glaze, highlighting the texture finish. Proceed across the entire wall blending glazed areas.

Step 4. Two-Color Glazing: Apply the first glaze color, either using a color washing brush or 3/8" nap roller in a 3' x 3' area. while first glaze is wet, use a color washing brush to brush a second glaze randomly over the first glaze, covering as much or as little as desired. A random X pattern is effective. Blend glazes until you get the desired effect. While glaze is still wet, use a damp cotton rag to soften and remove excess glaze. Use a light swirling motion with the rag to eliminate any lap marks or stipple patterns. Remove as much or as little glaze as you choose. for a softer, more blended appearance, stipple the surface with a stippling brush.

Step 1. Using a texture roller, apply the Textured Stone to an area about 3' x 3', leaving random edges.

Step 2. Using a trowel, smooth out the surface as if you were frosting a cake. Do not overwork the texture. Do not let the texture dry.

Step 3. Use the pointed end of a paintbrush or another pointed object and randomly trace designs. Clean the pointed object frequently to avoid forming clumps.

Step 4. Repeat steps across the entire wall, applying more Textured Stone as needed. Stop only at natural breaks in the wall such as doors, windows and corners to avoid unsightly seams. Let dry thoroughly.

Step 5. Follow steps 3 and 4 from Aged Plaster Finish to complete glazing.

While the Textured Stone is still wet, objects such as mosaic tiles, seashells, beads and more can be embedded for a creative finish.

Step 1. Spread a thin layer of Textured Stone on surface with a roller or trowel and allow to set up for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Step 2. Press foam stamp firmly into paint. Be sure to clean between each stamping.

Step 3. Follow steps 3 and 4 from Aged Plaster Finish to complete glazing.
