Valspar® Élan® Kitchen & Bath is a revolutionary low-odor paint, which delivers enduring beauty in one lustrous coat. This 100% acrylic latex enamel utilizes the latest engineered ceramic technology that is extremely easy to apply without spattering. Élan contains an antimicrobial agent to prevent microorganisms from degrading the product. It is ideal for use in high humidity, frequently scrubbed and washed areas. Élan produces an elegant, long lasting finish.

Coverage

Covers up to 400 sq. ft. (37.2 m²) per gallon. Do not thin.

Where to Use

Properly prepared interior wall, trim and ceiling surfaces including previously painted and primed plaster, wood, brick, drywall, cement and metal.

Clean Air Formula

According to the U.S. EPA, "volatile organic compounds (VOC's) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOC's include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short- and long-term adverse health effects. Concentrations of many VOC's are consistently higher indoors (up to ten times higher) than outdoors." In addition, VOC's are a contributing factor to ozone, a common air pollutant. Surface Preparation

Thoroughly clean the surface and allow to dry. Remove wallpaper and loose, peeling paint. Patch cracks and spot prime. Dull glossy surfaces. Prime new wallboard with latex wall primer. Prime new wood with enamel undercoater or latex wall primer.

Application

Stir paint thoroughly. Intermix all containers to ensure uniform color. Apply with a premium quality roller, polyester brush or airless sprayer. Paint the ceiling first, then the walls. If applying by roller, roll from dry area into wet area using firm, crisscross strokes. Finish with long, even strokes in one direction.

Dry Time

Dries to the touch in 30–60 minutes. Paint only when surface and air temperatures are 50–90°F (10-32°C). Recoat in 2–4 hours.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop.
