At Valspar, we’re proud to share the love of color, joy and inspiration with communities via our Be Bright mural initiative. (And more to come!)

March 2021
North Greenwood Recreation Center, Clearwater, FL

Seeing some light at the end of the pandemic, Valspar decided to ask the Tampa Bay community – home of the Valspar Championship – where it would love to see a dose of joy, positivity and renewal. The selection committee chose this rec center, which provides after-school care and activities for children in the Clearwater area. It colorfully depicts the joy of hugs, smiles and FUN the world had been missing.

Zulu Painter @zulupainter1
This local artist’s work is large scaled and big of heart, designed to uplift communities with lively color and positive energy, so he was a natural choice for our first mural. His work has been seen and celebrated in many communities, at Sea World and Disney on Ice (to name a few).

December 2021
Preston Taylor Ministries, Nashville, TN

Our first mural was so well-received, we decided to do it again! We held a contest at the Valspar Championship in March and PGA TOUR® Pro Brandt Snedeker won the chance to choose the next Be Bright mural location. Brandt and his wife, Mandy, decided to uplift this after-school center in their Tennessee hometown. The artist used bright color to express the joy and enthusiasm of the children it serves, who are represented in this beautiful mural.

Alexandria Hall @alexandriaolivia

This freelance illustrator and muralist loves how small, unseen moments carry hidden messages and emotions, which is why her works resonate so deeply and easily with all who see them. She has also worked with Disney+, Bloomberg Markets, Pandora Music and Refinery 29.

March 2022
Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, FL

Just what the doctor ordered: a colorful dose of cheer to brighten up the spirits of patients and visitors to this bustling hospital. The artists wove semi-realistic portraits of real hospital employees and patients into their mural to bring forward the feeling of humanity and caring in a colorful way.

JP and Vanessa Parra @artcapco

This creative couple is celebrated for their talent and ever-evolving approach to art, combining classical drawing and painting techniques with modern art and color trends. In Tampa, it all comes together for a vibrant, life-affirming work.

October 2022
The Dixie Center for the Arts, Ruston, LA

After winning the 2022 Valspar Championship, PGA TOUR Pro Sam Burns won the opportunity to choose yet another mural location. He and his wife, Caroline, decided to support the arts in their adopted hometown, and we found the perfect local artist. The result: an inspiring celebration of the arts, past and present, representing the deep history in this north-central Louisiana town.

KaDavien Baylor @kadavien_

This talented artist combines elements of design and abstraction in thoughtful works that promote our understanding of ourselves and society … and to remind communities of the beauty of human existence. An advocate of public art as a powerful means of communication, he was the natural choice for the mural in support of those who create and express their humanity through the arts.

March 2023
St. Pete – Clearwater International Airport, Clearwater, FL

Be Bright continues to make waves across the country. Returning to the Tampa Bay area, this new mural was completed at the St. Pete/Clearwater Airport where we asked the local muralist to welcome visitors — and also welcome Floridians home — with a colorful, sunny design combining iconic Florida symbols and local points of interest.

Ashley Cantero @ashleycantero

This Tampa native is best known for her precise line work and bold, emotionally expressive female characters. With themes inspired by 60’s psychedelia, Atomic Age design and Sci-Fi, Ashley’s work is ever evolving in various media and artistic forms of expression.

November 2023
KickingBird Golf, Edmond, OK

After winning the 2023 Valspar Championship, PGA TOUR Pro Taylor Moore also won the chance to partner with Valspar to choose the next location of a Be Bright mural. Taylor honored his hometown and all who helped him achieve his success by choosing a public golf course where he grew up playing golf. Valspar and Taylor partnered with Taylor’s first golf coach at KickingBird Golf, and local muralist, Rhiana Deck, to create a mural inspiring all at the youth golf academy to dream big, work hard and rely on the help of others to achieve those dreams.

Rhiana Deck @rhianadeck
