HOW TO USE
-
UsageUse on concrete, asphalt, previously coated surfaces, primed wood and metal. Not recommended for ponding water areas. Not for use on exterior wood decks, garage floors or other automobile parking areas.
-
PrepThe surface must be clean, dry and free of all loose or peeling paint. Thoroughly clean surface and remove wax and grease with an all-purpose cleaner (TSP or substitute). All bare wood surfaces, new, rough, repaired or badly worn should be sanded and primed with Valspar® Exterior Latex Primer. Remove rust and prime all iron and steel with a rust-inhibitive metal primer. Remove gloss from previously painted surfaces by sanding. For new concrete, allow surface to cure at least 60 days before painting. New, unpainted or smooth-worn concrete must be etched with a concrete cleaner, degreaser and etcher for proper penetration and adhesion. Follow all label instructions. For new asphalt, allow the surface to weather 4–6 months prior to application. Do not apply over “shiny” asphalt or freshly applied, tar-emulsion asphalt sealers
-
ApplicationMix well before and during use. If using more than one container, intermix all cans of the same color. Use a premium-quality, polyester brush for small area (stairs, etc.). For large areas, pour Valspar® Anti-Skid Porch & Floor Paint in a long, continuous bead across the “shorter side” of the surface. Spread the product uniformly with a premium-quality, 1/4" or 3/8" nap roller and finish with long, even strokes in one direction. After drying 24 hours, apply the second coat if necessary or desired, at a right angle to the first coat — again finishing with long, even strokes in one direction. Clean tools and hands with warm, soapy water. Discard used roller covers. Do not allow water to pond or puddle on newly painted surfaces.
